About mTarsier

What is mTarsier?

mTarsier is a free, open-source desktop application designed to simplify the management of MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers across multiple AI clients. Whether you're using Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, VS Code, or other AI tools, mTarsier provides a unified interface to configure, manage, and monitor all your MCP connections in one place.

Why mTarsier?

Managing MCP servers across different AI clients used to be chaotic. Each client has its own configuration file, stored in different locations, with different formats. Making changes meant editing JSON files manually, risking syntax errors, and keeping track of which servers are installed where.

mTarsier solves this by auto-detecting all your AI clients, providing a visual interface for configuration management, and offering features like automatic backups, marketplace installation, and CLI tools for power users.

Key Features

  • Unified Dashboard: View all MCP servers across every client in one place
  • Auto-Detection: Automatically finds Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, VS Code, and more
  • Config Editor: Visual editor with syntax highlighting and JSON validation
  • Marketplace: Browse and install MCP servers with a few clicks
  • CLI Tool: tsr command for terminal-based management
  • Auto-Backup: Backs up configs before every change with one-click rollback
  • Multi-Theme: Dark biopunk, light, and system themes

Open Source

mTarsier is fully open-source and licensed under the MIT License. The entire codebase is available on GitHub, where you can review the code, report issues, or contribute improvements.

We believe in transparency and community-driven development. Your contributions, feedback, and ideas help make mTarsier better for everyone.
